DAV College, Chandigarh held wreath laying ceremony for Lt. Col. Anusuya Prasad Kuniyal from ITBP
DAV College Chandigarh paid tribute to the martyr of nation and held a wreath laying ceremony in his alma mater for Lt. Col. Anusuya Prasad Kuniyal from ITBP, who laid down his life for the country. The wreath laying ceremony was organized by ITBP Officials and NCC (Army Wing) of DAV College. Vandna Kuniyal, wife of Lt. Col. Anusuya Prasad along-with her two children also attended the ceremony. The commandant of ITBP (Transport Battalion), Mr. Anand B Ullagaddi, his wife St. Jahnvi Anand, Chief Patron, Himveer Wives Welfare Association, and Deputy Commandant, Mr. Rakesh Kumar (ITBP), were also present. Many officials as well as jawans of ITBP also attended the event. Ms. Rita Jain, Principal, DAV College, said that DAV College have a proud history of producing alumni who have served their motherland in armed forces. She added that Shaheed Lt. Col. Anusuya Prasad Kumar, was the student of DAV College from Year 1991 to 1993, and had joined ITBP as Assistant Commandant in 1997. LT Nikhlesh Thakur, ANO (NCC, Army Wing), said that Lt. Col. Anusuya Prasad Kuniyal sacrificed his life in the line of duty during grenade attack at Belgam, Karnataka on 13th October 2011.
