The college was built from scratch with missionary zeal. Brick by brick, the early principals and teachers at the college put in super human efforts to launch the college. And those among the students who saw the college come up, knew exactly, what the growth had entailed. They experienced first hand, the self less labour and love, and the sense of duty and discipline, which had gone into the making of the institution. It is this that makes many of these old students, themselves occupying high places, come back to the college for educating their sons and grand-sons, and now even daughters and grand-daughters. They believe that the skills and values ingrained in them, which helped them succeed in their lives, have been acquired by them in this institution. They not only remember their college for its academic excellence, its committed faculty and dedicated principals, its ever growing impressive infrastructure and its star sportsmen..Every student enrolled with us is allowed perceptive freedom to excel in his or her chosen field of endeavour and interest. That is one reason, we believe, has helped us in moulding career of some of the best young men & women of this region. The offering of maximum facilities to the students so that they fulfil their potential has been the hallmark of the college. All incentives in the college are they in the form of special coaching or counselling, extra books, sports equipment, fee concessions, stipends, scholarships, etc. have not really to be applied for. They are theirs by exhibiting the potentials for excellence in the field of academic, extra- curricular and sports activities.
The infrastructure and student support facilities available in the college have enabled us to remain on top in the region. Our students continue to bag top positions in studies. We have successfully launched Postgraduate programs in Commerce, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, English, Economics, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology and P.G. Diplomas in various fields.
The college has earned respectable name in the field of sports. We have produced 69 International Sportsmen & women like the legendary Kapil Dev, Yuvraj Singh, Yograj, Dinesh Mongia, Jeev Milkha Singh, Irina Brar and Anjum Moudil. This tradition is alive and kicking even today. Young scholars, inspired and fired by glowing examples of their predecessors, do their best to maintain the high levels of excellence year after year that are very rarely achieved elsewhere. When they come here, success is only a sacred word in their prayers; when they leave, success is actually a solid weapon in their hands. With this weapon they proceed further to win all battles of life.
The coloured achievements of the college in the field of education, cultural activities and sports have enabled us to play host to four Vice-Presidents.one Prime Minister, several Union Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, great religious Leaders and other dignitaries. They have graced our functions on many occasions to bless and motivate the students and staff.
