A grand celebration of 75th Republic Day was organized today at D.A.V College, Sector-10, Chandigarh. At first, Prof.Rita Jain, Principal, DAV College and Mr. Sanjeev Sethi, President, Lions club Chandigarh along with college professors & club members paid their tributes to the martyrs. The national flag was hoisted by Prof. Rita Jain , after which N.C.C. Army, Navy, Air Wing and NSS Volunteers joined in the parade march. Later on, Cultural programs were presented in the college auditorium. Remembering the martyrs, Prof. Rita Jain addressed the audience and also gave details on successful contributions made by the college under 'Hamara Sankalp Viskit Bharat'. The NSS Unit in collaboration with Lions Club Chandigarh successfully installed Sanitary Pad Vending Machine. Prof. Rita Jain, also appreciated the emergence of women power at the central level. She also appealed everyone to contribute in 'E waste collection drive' run by the NSS Unit. The programme was followed by High Tea and refreshments.
