Governor Kataria encourages teachers and students to push boundaries in Nation-building
DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, held its Annual Convocation on 22 April 2026 on the college premises. Degrees were conferred upon graduating students from the Humanities, Sciences, Commerce, and Vocational streams. The ceremony saw the presence of students, faculty members, and distinguished guests.
According to the official document, a total of 1019 degrees were awarded, including 724 undergraduate and 295 postgraduate degrees.
H.E. Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, attended the event as the Chief Guest. He was welcomed through an academic procession to the auditorium.
Principal Dr. Mona Narang welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries and presented the Annual Report for the session 2025–26. She highlighted the achievements of students and faculty in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. She said that the convocation is an important milestone for students and their families and encouraged graduates to carry forward the legacy of the college.
The Governor awarded degrees to top-performing students.
In his address, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria congratulated the graduates and spoke about the role of DAV institutions in promoting education, especially for girls, and in shaping responsible citizens. He emphasized the importance of teachers and said their contribution to society is invaluable. He expressed happiness that students of DAV College are performing well in various fields.
He added that with patriotism and determination, India can rise as a global leader (Vishwaguru). He also appreciated the college for maintaining academic excellence and values-based education.
As students received their degrees, the auditorium was filled with joy and pride. Faculty members appreciated their students, and many students captured the moment with photographs. The atmosphere reflected excitement for future academic, professional, and entrepreneurial journeys. Graduates also thanked their teachers and families for their support.
