DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh Honours Cadet Padma Namgail for Historic Ascent of Mount Everest
Chandigarh: In a proud and inspirational moment for the city and the nation, Cadet Padma Namgail of DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, has achieved the extraordinary by successfully scaling Mount Everest in May 2025.

In recognition of this rare and remarkable accomplishment, DAV College Chandigarh hosted a Felicitation Ceremony. Present on the occasion were the esteemed members of the DAV Managing Committee, the Hon’ble Justice Pritampal, Senior Vice President and the Former Principal Shri R.C. Jeevan, and, whose unwavering support, visionary guidance, and steadfast commitment continue to illuminate the path of DAV institutions. Their enduring encouragement stands as a pillar of strength, inspiring excellence and nurturing the noble pursuit of knowledge.
Principal, Dr Mona Narang lauded the efforts of Cadet Padma Namgail who being a member of the NCC Army Wing, joined the league of elite mountaineers and dared to challenge the highest peak on Earth and triumphed. Padma's ascent is a feat that embodies resilience, courage, the unconquerable human spirit, an unwavering commitment to pushing human limits qualities that reflect the very spirit of the National Cadet Corps and the institution he represents.

The felicitation ceremony was graced by Subdar Major, Dr SM Karan Singh, Dr Nikhlesh Thakur, Associate NCC Officer among students, faculty, and distinguished guests.

Cadet Namgail’s journey from DAV College to the summit of Everest stands as an enduring inspiration for youth across India as a reminder that with discipline, courage, and vision, no summit is unreachable.
