PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION
Education must eventually lead to character building and integrity in public life: Prasad
“The culmination of years of education in the students must result in character building and integrity in public life.” These thoughts were shared by Shri H. Rajesh Prasad, Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Chandigarh, at the Annual Prize Distribution Function of DAV College, Chandigarh, which was held here today at the College premises.
The event celebrated the academic, cultural, and extracurricular achievements of the students, recognising excellence across diverse fields during the past year.
The ceremony was also graced by Justice Pritam Pal (Retd.), Hon’ble Vice-President, DAVCMC, New Delhi and Shri R. C. Jeewan, Hon’ble Member, DAVCMC, New Delhi, as Guests of Honour.
Convenor Dr. Deepti Madaan welcomed the dignitaries, students and parents followed by lighting of the Deepshikha and rendering of DAV Anthem.
The Principal, Dr. Mona Narang, greeted the dignitaries and applauded the students’ dedication and hard work. She presented the annual report wherein the outstanding achievements of the students were showcased. She said that pursuing excellence was a desirable trait for the students pursuing any goals, and the College was honouring that trait today.
Chief Guest Shri H. Rajesh Prasad, Hon’ble Chief Secretary, Chandigarh, while applauding the institution’s outstanding achievements in academics, sports, culture, research, and community service, praised the college’s commitment to excellence and holistic development. He remarked that reskilling and up-skilling were essential requirements of the present times, and urged the students to take care of their health to benefit society.
Speaking on this occasion, Justice Pritam Pal advised the students to strive towards becoming better citizens by following good thoughts, good action and good behaviour in their everyday conduct.
Highlights of Awards
A total of 318 prizes were conferred.
The awards recognised not only academic brilliance but also contributions in sports, NCC, NSS, and cultural pursuits, reflecting the holistic development ethos of the College.
